Picked my best man, ushers and ordered suits now to get planning the stag, weddings are simple. Ok maybe that is a bit extreme but in most cases the bride is by far the most involved in the planning process struggling to keep her groom interested. So why is it so important what the theme or colour of your reception is? And why do you have to trawl round shop after shop looking at flowers and favours?
These things may not be important to you but your wedding day is about you AND your bride-to-be. If these things are important to her you need to make her know that they are important to you. It’s really not difficult just listen and give an opinion and allow yourself to be steered to the option your other half wants if you really couldn't care less either way!
It is also a good idea to plan a surprise or two. Flowers or an item of jewellery arriving on the morning of the wedding are likely to please your other half. You could also book a surprise honeymoon. I was planning to send flowers round on the morning of our wedding, then forgot somehow. Laura wasn't aware of until I wrote this, now I'm in the doghouse...

When it comes to picking your guests this can be an area of conflict. It is a good idea to set some rules first before you start to edit your guest list. Things like people that neither of you know, or friends of yours that your other half has never met, are the first to go when you cut numbers. Also where people sit is important. You don’t want people falling out during the wedding breakfast or for your friends to upset those of your partners!
However you feel about wedding planning make sure that you do get involved as a couple. You never know you may even enjoy it, I know I did!
